UGANDA – the Pearl of Africa

as Winston Churchill called Uganda. The Republic of Uganda, a landlocked country in East Africa at the equator, lies on a plateau of 1000 – 1200m on average. The Rwenzori Mountains in the west reach an altitude of over 5000m. Lake Victoria, the second largest freshwater lake in the world, is considered to be the source of river Nile.
The republic with its capital Kampala counts currently in 2025 about 46 million inhabitants.
The seat of government and international airport are in Entebbe at Lake Victoria.
The warm climate and fertile soil enable 2-3 harvests per year. The varieties of vegetables, fruits and crops are also supplying neighbouring countries. Sugar cane, tea and coffee are mainly exported.
